Two armed suspects arrested after leading officers on chase in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two suspects are behind bars after leading officers on a chase in Kalamazoo.

At 8 p.m. on Saturday, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers received reports of shots fired on Walnut Court, in the area of City of Kalamazoo Recreation. Witnesses described the vehicle in which the suspects were driving.

Upon arrival, officers tried to stop the vehicle and a chase ensued. The driver and passenger abandoned their vehicle shortly after and then ran from police in the area of North Church Street, near Jesus Cares Ministries. They were quickly apprehended and arrested.

No one was injured as a result of the shots fired or pursuit. The suspects are locked away in the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple felony charges that include weapons offenses, along with fleeing, eluding, and resisting arrest.
