Police respond to 'fully involved' structure fire at Kalamazoo encampment

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Police responded to a structure fire at an encampment in Kalamazoo Friday evening.

Kalamazoo Public Safety says several tents were on fire at Mills and O'Neill when authorities arrived.

Public safety says they were able to get the fire under control in under 10 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but police say two people were displaced.

We're told the Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Those with information in connection to the incident are asked to call KDPS at 269-488-8911 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
