MONTGOMERY, Ill. — The suspect in a homicide in Kalamazoo was arrested Tuesday morning in Illinois after a standoff with police and U.S. marshals.
Investigators have been searching for 35-year-old Scott Jones since September, when they say he shot and killed Antonio Reese-Manley in front of Fox Ridge Apartments in Kalamazoo.
Police and U.S. marshals called a SWAT team Tuesday morning after they saw Jones inside a home in Montgomery, Illinois while investigating an assault. Law enforcement surrounded the house and took him into custody around 8:40 a.m.
Jones is facing charges of open murder and weapons charges in Reese-Manley’s death.
