KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The runway extension project at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport is officially underway.
The airport celebrated the groundbreaking for the project on Monday.
The project has been years in the making. Airport officials say it will help with smoother takeoffs and landing, and will also help increase capacity for planes.
