KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Things are about to be twice as nice again for shoppers in Kalamazoo, as a sale on gift card program will let buyers double their money.

The Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership says starting December 18 at noon it will hold a second flash sale on its Downtown Dollars program. Called the "Twice as Nice" sale, the deal will double any purchase of downtown dollars up to $250.

The sale is a repeat of last week's offer, and is possible thanks to a grant from Consumers Energy's "Our Town" initiative.

Downtown Dollars work like a gift card at more than 45 participating downtown restaurants, shops, and businesses. You can buy them online, and have the downtown dollars emailed to you.

The Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership hopes shoppers will take advantage of the deal to make some last-minute Christmas purchases. The bonus dollars will expire at the end of next June. All regular dollars will be good through 2024.
