1 man injured in Kalamazoo shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) are investigating a Friday morning shooting that left one man injured.

The shooting occurred just after 10 a.m. today, as officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 500 block of North Park Street.

The man shot was found on scene and transported to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition.

One suspect was located several blocks away and was taken into custody.

A second suspect has also been identified, but it not in custody.

KDPS is looking for 24-year-old black man, about six feet tall with a slim build, wearing a white t-shirt, white shorts and white shoes at the time of the shooting.

A wheelchair was used by the suspects at the time of the incident, but it was found abandoned near the shooting location.
