Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Saxton has been selected as the next executive director of the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association.

Current MSA President and Iron County Sheriff Mark Valesano said Saxton will bring years of experience, knowledge and personality to the position.

“I look forward to serving the 83 Michigan sheriffs and their agencies into the future, as well as the over 21,000 citizen membership,” Saxton said in a release.

Saxton has been with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s office since 1994 and was elected sheriff in 2013.
