WYOMING, Mich. — 44th Street westbound will likely be closed west of Burlingame Avenue in Wyoming through Wednesday, depending on the weather.
The city sent out a notice on Monday that pavement on 44th Street at R W Berends Drive was damaged by a water main break and the westbound lanes of 44th Street were closed.
The repair process began Monday afternoon as the city got estimates on repairs, and a crew from Rieth-Riley Construction was milling out pavement Tuesday morning.
Wyoming Assistant Director of Public Works/Engineering Russ Henckel told FOX 17 that initial paving will be done Tuesday and it's possible final top could be down and the road open sometime Wednesday afternoon. Weather could delay that, but 44th Street westbound should be open by Thursday.
Drivers need to use 52nd Street or 36th Street between Burlingame and Byron Center avenues as a detour until repairs are complete.
