WYOMING, Mich. — The family of the 15-year-old killed earlier this month during a week of homicides, is still searching for answers about his death.

Emanuel Hernandez died December 7th, after being shot near Prairie Parkway in Wyoming. Gloria Hernandez, Emanuel's mother, spoke with FOX 17 on Monday, as she hopes to get more information on the person who shot her son

“I would like to ask that, plead that anyone who has information to contact you know police, or silent observer,” Hernandez said. “We don’t know nothing about what happened and my son deserves justice. Nothing will bring him back, but we all deserve closure. We deserve justice. For the family, for his little sister. For her, that was his best friend. We are just pleading to whoever knows to just come forward.”

Emanuel's death was part of a long string of homicides in West Michigan at the beginning of this month, with eight people killed over the span of 7 days.

Hours after Emanuel was killed, Wyoming police officers did a search of the building and the parking lot, arresting three suspects on unrelated warrants. Investigators say those three are not connected to Hernandez’s death, and at this time, no other arrests were made in the case.

“I don’t do this to look for sympathy, but this is killing me, knowing that whoever is out there they are free,” Hernandez said. “My son is gone, and we just need closure. Because the day that they killed him, they killed me too. I’m alive but I’m dead at the same time, and I just need closure. We all need closure.”

Wyoming police told Fox 17 that they continue to work on searching for the person who opened fire on that Saturday morning. They are still accepting tips through silent observer.
