ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was charged Monday after authorities say he pointed a gun at deputies trying to get him out of a house he had been evicted from.

The incident happened Friday at a home on Deer Trail Drive in Algoma Township.

Authorities said a court officer tried to get inside the home through several doors, but the doors wouldn’t open. To get inside, he broke a single pane on a sliding glass door, and the former homeowner pulled back a curtain and allegedly pointed a gun at the court officer and two deputies.

Authorities said the deputies drew their weapons and the man put his handgun down. Eventually, the man surrendered without incident.

On Monday, he was arraigned on a charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer.
