Update: all lanes of US-131 are now open.
One lane of US-131 North is closed at 54th Street in Kent County, after concrete fell off the overpass an onto the expressway.
Michigan State Police tweeted Wednesday afternoon about the situation, alerting drivers to slow down as MDOT crews responded to assess the damage.
Troopers are advising that the left lane of northbound US-131 at 54th is closed due to concrete falling from overpass. MDOT is on scene assessing. Please slow your speeds in the area and avoid the left lane. pic.twitter.com/vCT5ZpmaN6

In a follow up tweet, MSP says the left lane on Northbound 131 will be closed past 3pm Wednesday.
Northbound is now open, left lane southbound now closed for approx. 1 hour for bridge inspection.
