GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — COVID-19 canceled the NCAA basketball tournament.

Monday, April 6th, fans everywhere should be gathered together to see who would win the national championship.

Michigan State Spartans everywhere are disappointed.

Which is why the alumni marching band, with the help of current Spartan Marching Band members is hosting a special event tonight.

At 9p.m., you'll be able to access a special rendition of the fight song here. It's a video created with the help of 75 different musicians.

The whole thing is the brainchild of Jenine Grover, also known by her nickname Chip.

She's an alumni member of the band, and her son is currently studying at MSU as a freshman.

"I thought wow, tonight's going to be a magical night. Then COVID 19 stepped in and changed things. I think it's still going to be a magical night. It's just going to be different," Chip Grover said.
