Hagar Township man arrested for allegedly setting fire to his own home

HAGAR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — State police have arrested a man accused of setting fire to his own residence today, according to Lt. DuWayne Robinson.

Robinson says Michigan State Police were dispatched in response to a house fire on Chabot Road shortly after noon.

We’re told that a 48-year-old male set fire to the home after a domestic argument that took place Monday evening.

Police tell us the man was arrested in Van Buren County not long after, adding that he is facing charges for first-degree arson.

The fire is still under investigation.
