Woman expected to survive after being shot in head on Grand Rapids' SE side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police in Grand Rapids are investigating after a woman was shot in the head on the city's southeast side.

It happened just after midnight Thursday on Sheldon Avenue between Buckley and Pleasant, according to police.

We're told the woman is expected to survive and was alert and talking to police on scene.

Police say crews are expected to have that area blocked off for at least another 30 minutes.

No word on a suspect in this case.
