GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — MDOT is reporting that a water main break has westbound 28th St. in Grand Rapids from Eastern Ave. to Union St. down to one lane, and may cause a backup on your commute.
According to the City of Grand Rapids, early Tuesday morning, city crews responded to a 12-inch water main break on 28th Street between Union Ave. and Eastern Ave. This caused the Westbound lane of 28th Street to be consolidated into one lane (the center lane). The Eastbound lanes are not affected.
Six properties are impacted with water service expected to be restored in the early afternoon on Tuesday, with no water quality issues because pressure was able to be maintained.
