GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Grand Rapids Police are investigating the relationship between shots fired from a car on the S-Curve Tuesday and a man who came to the ER with a gunshot wound 45 minutes later.

Witnesses told police someone in a white vehicle shot at another car 8 times just before 3 p.m.

About 45 minutes after initial calls to 911, a 24 year-old man arrived at Butterworth Hospital with a gunshot wound in his thigh. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but he was not able to give police a clear answer about where the shooting happened.

"He gave conflicting statements of where the incident occurred, but it very well may have occurred on the highway." GRPD tells FOX `17 if the victim will not give them a definite answer about where the shooting took place, they cannot confirm the shooting and victim are related.

There is no suspect information for either incident.
