Man charged in riot in downtown Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Another man has been charged in connection with the riot in downtown Grand Rapids this weekend.

Chase Spencer, 23, was charged today with one count of riot, a felony up to 10 years, and one count of malicious destruction of a building, a felony up to 5 years, according to Christopher Becker, prosecuting attorney for Kent County, today.

He is being charged in relation to an incident at Urban Obsession Salon.

Becker stressed that Spencer is innocent until proven guilty.
