GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The Kent County Sheriff has confirmed the man who hit a pedestrian near the Van Andel Arena was a Kent County Corrections Officer. They have not released the name of the officer, pending arraignment.
"At this time our thoughts an prayers are with the victim," Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young said. "We hope for her full recovery."
The crash happened late on Friday evening near the corner of Fulton and Market. The investigation into the crash is still on-going, the driver was found to be drunk at the time of the crash.
