Drive-by shooting leaves man with wounded foot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police officers rushed to respond to the sound of gunshots Sunday night near the intersection of Kalamazoo Avenue and Boston Street in Grand Rapids.

There they found a man shot in the heel. The victim told officers he was walking home when a vehicle drove by and the people inside opened fire.

The 20-year-old was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators combed the area, finding a dozen shell casings. Officers say one home and one vehicle were hit by bullets.

Police have not released information on the suspect(s) or vehicle involved.
