GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Franklin Campus of Grand Rapids Public Schools, which includes the district’s administrative offices and other functions, is temporarily closed after staff members were determined to be COVID positive.
The district sent staff home on Thursday and will keep the campus closed through the weekend. The status of the campus for Monday is yet to be determined, but the GRPS statement said “the Kent County Health Department has indicated the Franklin Campus may reopen in-person on Monday, October 5.”
The staff members identified as positive work in different buildings on the campus at 1331 Franklin SE in Grand Rapids.
The campus buildings include the Rev. Lyman S. Parks Administration Building, plus the 4H, Library, and Campus ECC buildings.
