DECATUR TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A woman was jailed in Decatur Township earlier today after Methamphetamine was found in a lawful search.
Van Buren County’s sheriff's office was given an anonymous tip that someone was traveling from the Lawton area to Decatur and with Methamphetamine on her person/in her vehicle in a Silver Buick.
Deputies found the vehicle solely by a woman and made a traffic stop. Consent to search the vehicle was given by the driver and drugs were found. A parole hold was place on her for the contraband and she was transported to the jail for lodging.
Once at the jail the suspect attempted destroy and flush several bags of presumed meth down the toilet. Deputies were able to recover 12 baggies and approximately 7g of methamphetamine from her.
The woman is currently being held pending review from the Prosecutors Office while the case remains under investigation.
