GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The City of Grand Haven and the Downtown Development Authority launched its campaign 'For the Love of Grand Haven' to unity and mask wearing.

As part of the initiative, several businesses across the city are encouraging their staff to wear the same mask. It's black with a small heart on one side surrounded by a surgical mask.

The campaign's website says, "Regardless of what you think about the pandemic, one thing is for sure: We all love our community. We’ll do whatever it takes – even wearing a mask – if it helps slow the spread and keeps businesses open."

The Snug Harbor is one of the many local eateries taking part.

"The masks are here to promote unity within our community," said Nicole Hanson, server with Snug Harbor. "We want people to come together to keep each other safe.”

The logos on the mask are available online.

The cities of Ferrsburg and Spring Lake are also taking part in the initiative.
