LANSING, Mich. — Two employees with the Michigan Department of Corrections have tested positive for the coronavirus.
One person is a probation agent at the Jackson County Probation Office with a recent history of international travel. The other works at the Detroit Detention Center with no history of travel.
They are the first MDOC employees to test positive for the virus.
The MDOC has been in contact with both employees, and it is working to determine "any other employees and probationers that the person was in contact with."
“We are glad to hear our employee is feeling better,” MDOC Director Heidi Washington said. “We continue to do all we can to protect the health of our staff, their families and the offenders they supervise.”
