103,710 coronavirus cases confirmed in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 103,710.

The number of cases increased 524 from yesterday, when there were 103,186 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 718 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,509 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased 14 from yesterday, when there were 6,495 deaths. Yesterday, when the state reported 15 new deaths.

Statewide, 76,151 people have recovered from the virus as of Aug. 28. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are more than 6,088,187 cases, and there have been 184,803 deaths — while 2,202,682 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
