HAMILTON, Mich. — Hamilton is getting set for its first conference meeting with Allendale on the football field on Friday night.
Second-year head coach, Phil Koops led the Hawkeyes to a 4-5 record in his first season but is more confident heading into week two of this fall.

"It's exciting to play Allendale again and be back in the OK Blue, I think they're a good team," Koops said.
Now, he's hoping his team can take the next step with a victory over the Falcons.
"If we want to do what we want to do as a program, we need to start competing against good teams and ultimately, win games against good teams," he added.
