ALLEGAN, Mich. — Saturday afternoon, the Allegan County Health Department (ACHD) annouced that they have found a second positive coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Allegan County.

The resident is a 40-year-old with no travel history and currently hospitalized. The individual took proper precautions early on and had minimal community contact.

“It is incredibly important for all of us to follow the Governor’s Executive ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ Order," said Health Officer Angelique Joynes. "If you are ill and a critical infrastructure worker, do not report to work. Call a medical provider or use a tele-health app to get guidance on next steps. Remember to act as if those you interact with have COVID-19. Continue to practice social distancing and good hand hygiene.”

With the increase in COVID-19 cases statewide, the ACHD advises residents should continue to behave as though the virus may be present when they are in public places in the community and take all recommended prevention measures.
