WALKER, Mich. — Eastbound I-96 was closed for a short time after a semi tanker jackknifed west of Walker Avenue. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m.
The unofficial version of the story indicates the semi was avoiding a pickup that was pulling a trailer. In video from the scene, damage could be seen on both the tanker and the pickup.
There was no early word on injuries.
The left lane of eastbound I-96 was opened around 9:25 a.m., but access to the highway from Fruit Ridge Avenue was blocked.
