WEST MICHIGAN — Potentially high winds, strong currents and high waves triggered a weather advisory Friday afternoon.

According to an alert from the Muskegon Police Department,  the National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards advisory through Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Beach-goers from Grand Haven to Manistee are advised to stay out of the water until the potentially dangerous conditions improve this evening.

Winds could top 30 mph, along with 3-5 foot waves.  The conditions could make even the most experienced swimmer tire quickly, according the the press alert.
