EAST LANSING, Mich -- Nathan Lehnert threw six shutout innings to lead Portland St. Patrick to a 2-0 win over Gaylord St. Mary in a division 4 state semifinal Friday at Michigan State University.
Lehnert allowed five hits, walked two and struck out two.
Sophomore Dan Mackowiak drove in a run in the first and freshman Brandon Scheurer drove in another in the fifth.
Travis Moyer pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save.
Centreville (28-4) lost to Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 5-1. The Eagles scored four times in the top of the first inning.
Collin Kirby drove in the Bulldogs only run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jalen Brown and Michael Kool had Centreville's other two hits.
This was the second straight trip to the semifinals for the Bulldogs who lost to Muskegon Catholic Central in last year's championship game.
St. Patrick will meet Parkway Christian in the state championship game Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
