GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park is expanding, and a major New York architectural firm will be helping.
The expansion plans are just being developed and president David Hooker doesn't even know yet how far the expansion will go. The park hired the firmTod Williams Billie Tsien Architects because they say they admire the firm's unique perspective on layout and design.
The plans will be about adding to the park, but in a very logical way. In 2015, 750,000 visitors visited Meijer Gardens and the expansion will focus on methods for accommodating all those visitors and even more.
