KALAMAZOO, Mich -- Hope College started slow Wednesday night, just as it has many times this season, but the Flying Dutchmen put together a strong final 20 minutes to beat Kalamazoo College, 90-79.
Ben Gardner scored a game-high 23 points for Hope (12-1, 22-2), Chase Baysdell led Kalamazoo (2-11, 3-21) with 16 points.
The Hornets led 27-17 late in the first half and 29-24 at halftime.
Alma College lost to Albion College on Wednesday which gives Hope at least a share of the MIAA title. The Flying Dutchmen can win it outright with a win at Calvin College on Saturday.
