DETROIT, Mich. - Muskegon Catholic Central is a football state champion for the third time in a row.

The Crusaders beat Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 7-0 Friday to win the Division 8 Michigan State High School Football Championship.

Senior quarterback Christian Martinez scored on an 8-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter and Muskegon Catholic Central intercepted four passes.

It's the third straight Division 8 championship for the Crusaders (11-2) and the 11th overall state title for the program.

Walker Christoffersen's second interception Friday of Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes (13-1) quarterback Clay Senerius came in the end zone with 3:21 left to play. The Crusaders then ran out the clock to secure the victory.

Each team missed field goal attempts in a scoreless first half.
