Mel Trotter lending a hand to the hungry this season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – This week is Homelessness Awareness Week, so Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids holding its annual Turkey Drop to feed the hungry this holiday season.

The food drive on November 18 seeks to collect frozen turkeys so that holiday meals can be distributed to those in need just before Thanksgiving and just before Christmas. This year's goal is 1,500 turkeys.

The drive is held from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Celebration North and South, all Mel Trotter locations, and Goodwill Industries in Belding.

Donors are welcome to bring a frozen turkey, any non-perishable items, or donations of money for the project.
