GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Those downtown Saturday evening were treated to a surprise fireworks show that lit up the Grand Rapids skyline. The display was thanks to the Lions Club, who had their national convention in town this week.
The organization wanted to do something special to mark the occasion, so they lined up a 20 minute display, keeping it off social media to keep the surprise.
The fireworks were set off over the Gillette Bridge and began at 9 p.m.
Lions Club International works with several different charities, focusing heavily on helping those who are blind and visually impaired.
