EAST LANSING, Mich — Connor Cook threw two first half touchdowns and L.J. Scott ran for two second half scores as Michigan State held off Oregon late for a 31-28 win.
The fifth ranked Spartans stopped Oregon on 4th and 16 at the Michigan State 43 yard line win one minute to play.
Scott’s 2nd rushing TD of the night gave MSU a 31-21 lead with 10:51 to play in the game but the Ducks scored with 3:25 left to pull within three and got the ball back just over a minute later with a three timeouts.
Cook finished 20-32 passing for 192 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception. Madre London ran the ball 18 times for 103 yards, Scott had 11 carries for 76 yards.
Michigan State (2-0) will host Air Force next Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
