GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The man who rescued a Grand Haven girl from high surf on Lake Michigan last week will be honored in Grand Haven, and his father from Hawaii will be in attendance.

Zebulon Boeskool jumped into Lake Michigan at Grand Haven State Park on August 20 and pulled Jozalin Francis from the water.   Her lungs were filled with water and she was taken to the hospital in serious condition.  She has recovered and been released from the hospital.

A campaign launched by Zeb’s mom on GoFundMe.com raised $1,000 to fly his dad from Hawaii for the presentation, which will be on Wednesday morning at the Grand Haven Community Center.  Zeb hasn’t seen his dad in six years.
