Cannonsburg Ski Area opens its 10-station canopy zip lines

BELMONT, Mich. – Cannonsburg Ski Area officially opened their 10-station canopy zip line Monday in Belmont.

The zip line tour takes about two hours to complete as you zip more than a mile of land. The zip lines range from 300 to 600 feet. Each group of up to six zip liners is accompanied by two guides at all times. Cannonsburg Ski Area Marketing Director Alycia Choroszucha said their safety gear and guidelines are top rate.

Construction started in April, and the zip lines were originally expected to open in June. Choroszucha said they are excited to make Cannonsburg a destination for all seasons.

“We’ve always wanted Cannonsburg to be a year-round destination,” said Choroszucha. “We’re known in the winter for being the action sports place in West Michigan, we want to convert that into the summer, and fall, and spring.”

Choroszucha also said they are planning to build another set of zip lines, including multiple racing lines, as well as a high ropes course. They hope to have this group of attractions open summer 2016.
