UTICA, New York — Dylan Larkin, playing in just his second game as a Griffin, scored two first period goals as the Griffins beat the Comets, 4-2 in game two of the Western Conference Finals on Monday night.
The best-of-seven series is now tied at a game apiece.
Teemu Pulkkinen added a power play goal in the 2nd period, his 14th postseason goal. Tyler Bertuzzi also scored in the 2nd.
Utica scored twice in the games final six minutes, Tom McCollum made 32 saves for Grand Rapids.
Games three, four and five will be at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
