GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-Gabriel Castillo Jr., the 4-year-old boy struck by a car while he was sledding at Richmond Park more than a week ago has gone home from the hospital.

Gabriel was hit by a car when his sled went into Richmond Street. The driver of the car that struck him never stopped. He suffered broken ribs, a broken collarbone, a concussion along with spleen and kidney damage.

After spending more than ten days between DeVos Children's Hospital and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation, he went to his Kentwood home Tuesday, well ahead of his doctor's initial prediction.

As for the investigation into the hit-and-run, police quickly located the car at a residence in Walker and took it for evidence.

Police had difficulty finding the driver, but tell us now that the driver has hired an attorney and Grand Rapids Police are hopeful of wrapping up their investigation soon, possibly by the end of the week.
