COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man was killed in an overnight crash when his vehicle hit a tree, overturned and landed on top of him.
The crash occurred in the 1000 block of W. D Avenue between Richland and US-131.
Speed was apparently a factor in the crash, according to a release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle before the vehicle landed on the driver when it rolled. The sheriff’s office noted the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver was declared dead at the scene. Family needs to be notified before the victim is identified.
