MORLEY, Mich. — The unusual bridge slide process will again be used on US-131 to replace a bridge this week, but it requires the complete closure of the southbound lanes of the highway.
A new bridge to carry southbound traffic over 3 Mile Road near Morley has been built next to the existing bridge. The old bridge will be demolished and the new bridge will be slid into place.
The southbound lanes of US-131 will be closed from the Stanwood exit 131, with traffic routed east to Standwood, south on Northland Drive, and back on the highway from the Morley interchange.
The closure is expected to end no later than Friday, September 12, at 11 p.m.
