WHITEHALL, Mich. — Whitehall District Schools delayed classes by two hours Thursday morning when a power outage hit the area due to storms. The outage lasted long enough that classes were cancelled for the day.

Around 3,000 Consumers Energy customers spent part of the morning without power in an area that straddled US-31 from White Lake to Russell Road and from Michillinda Road on the south to the White River on the north.

Consumers Energy estimated power would be restored by 9 a.m.
