GRANDVILLE, Mich. — It’s been a long time since the Grandville Bulldogs were relevant in high school football. Turning around programs is something new head coach Eric Stiegel knows a lot about.
Stiegel has spent the previous four seasons leading the Taylor Truman program on the east side of the state, a program that hadn’t won more than five games since 1992 before Stiegel’s arrival. In Stiegel’s third season at Taylor, the Cougars won a program-record nine games.
Now Stiegel is looking to do the same thing at Grandville, which hasn’t won which hasn’t had a winning season since 2006. Stiegel will bring a run-oriented offense for the Bulldogs to use.
Grandville opens the season at Jenison on August 28. They will begin OK Red play on September 19 at home against East Kentwood.
