GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As the American Quilt Society rolls into town this week at DeVos Place,a southern Grand Rapids store, Queen Bee Quilt Shoppe, 6522 S. Division Avenue , is celebrating a grand reopening.
Queen Bee, opened by mother and daughter team Brenda Kwekel and Carol Poelstra back in May of 2011, is in a new space. You will find a wide spectrum of books, patterns, 100 percent cotton quilting fabrics, wide-backs, hand-dyed wools, notions, and needlework supplies along with gift-ware.
On top of some amazing grand reopening deals such as free batting with long-arm drop off order from Aug. 18-23, tell the “bees” that you are a Smart Shopper and receive an additional 17 percent this week off your total purchase, INCLUDING items that are already on sale! (Please keep in mind that the free batting does not apply to quilts that are already in their possession and that it could take upwards of 8 weeks to get it back due to high demand. However, if you need “rushed” service, you can pay an up-charge of $50.)
There will be daily drawings for a $25 Queen Bee Quilt Shoppe gift certificate. Also, enjoy 20 percent off books and patterns. You will want to sign up for a Grand Prize drawing which will take place on Saturday, August 23, at 5 p.m. for a quilt valued at $250.
