GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety put out a warning Wednesday morning after a senior citizen fell victim to a scam at her own home.

The incident happened at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to a news release from the department, “A senior citizen fell victim to a scam yesterday afternoon.  A man, claiming to be a contractor, approached the front and then back door of a house on Waverly Avenue and asked for a bucket of hot water to assist with asphalt work. While the resident was occupied by the imposter, two other men entered the house and stole unknown items. The victim is an 87 year old woman.”

Investigators are looking for three suspects in a newer white four-door sedan with a license plate that may be out of the state of Wyoming.

The suspects’ ages range from about 30 to 60 years old.
