Coloma Softball Rallies To Force Extra Innings, Falls To Gladstone

EAST LANSING, Mich (June 13, 2014) —  Coloma hit back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie Gladstone, but fell 5-4 in 8 innings at Michigan State University’s Secchia Stadium Thursday in a division 3 softball semifinal.

Gladstone led 4-1 entering the bottom of the 7th, with 2-out Jenna Faultersack hit a 2-run home run to cut the deficit to 4-3 and Lexee Summers followed with a solo shot to tie the game and send it to the 8th.

Gladstone scored a run on a bunt and a throwing error in the top of the 8th and held on for the win.

Coloma finishes the season at 34-10, Gladstone will play either Clinton or Unionville-Sebewaing in the championship game.
