EAST LANSING, Mich (June 12, 2014) — Wayland rallied for 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to force extra innings against Livonia Ladywood Thursday before falling 4-3 in 10 innings in a division 2 state semifinal softball game at Michigan State University’s Secchia Stadium.
The Wildcats had the potential tying and winning runs in scoring position in the bottom of the 10th, but couldn’t get either home.
Ladywood’s leadoff hitter reached on an error in the 10th followed by a sacrifice bunt and an RBI single from Haley Lawrence.
Wayland finishes the season with a record of 42-2.
