Stellar Weather Continues For Our Saturday

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN (June 7, 2014) — This is the third straight weekend with abundant sunshine and dry conditions for festivals and happenings across the area. That said, it won’t matter if it’s the B93 Birthday Bash, Festival of the Arts in Grand Rapids, the motorcycle show at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, or the Asparagus Festival in Hart…the weather will be perfect.

The thing that makes it even nicer is the lack of oppressive humidity and moisture in the air. A fairly dry air mass with comfortable summer temperatures in the low/mid 80s is expected. While our clouds are expected to thicken this evening ahead of our next weather system, the day time hours will remain dry.

We have the chance for some showers overnight and through the first part of Sunday as a cold front swings through the state. If you miss out on the showers during this time frame, the next chance for wet weather doesn’t arrive until Wednesday.

Don’t forget the sunscreen! Our sun angle is quite high this time of year (like in July) and sun burns won’t take long at all. Beach conditions along the Lake Michigan shoreline have water temperatures in the upper 50s/lows 60s, and waves for boaters on Lake Michigan will be one foot or less all day!

The photo attached to this story was submitted by Matthew Brown and was taken at Duck Lake State Park. Make sure to post your summer photos on our FOX 17 Facebook page.
