SAUGATUCK, Mich. (Feb. 11, 2014) — Northbound I-196 was closed for hours Tuesday morning after a semi jackknifed into the median north of exit 41.
The mishap was first reported around 6:45 a.m. and the left lane southbound was blocked. Shortly afterward, both northbound lanes were closed.
Traffic was routed off the highway at Blue Star Highway, and drivers had to find their way back to I-196 via country roads.
There was no early word on the cause of the crash or whether there were injuries.
I-196 northbound was reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
