Manistee County Drops Charges Against Wife Of Trooper’s Accused Killer

MANISTEE, Mich. — Charges against Sarah Knysz in Manistee County were dropped January 13.

Knysz was convicted and sentenced in December 2013 in Mason County of accessory to murder after the fact in the shooting death of Michigan State Trooper Paul Butterfield.

Her husband, Eric, will go on trial in February.

The Manistee County prosecutor was in court Wednesday morning and could not be reached for an explanation. He is expected to return our calls Wednesday afternoon.
